Communication
As someone familiar with the project flow, who has taken an important role in managing Sephora projects, and worked as liaison cooperating with client directors and HQ designers (more than 90% of emails were what I composed)
Weekly Report
Found scheduling solutions for any discrepancies with the timetable shown in the weekly report. Combined all the information in it by having a meeting (client&design team&construction team)
Search & Order
Searched proper material and ordered the items for both custom and ready-made orders with the designer in our team.
Documentation
Prepared all relevant documents from the bid stage to project closeout. Made and edited all given data to the submittable form of documents.
- design suggestion, valid license for construction, financial information, material schedule, vendor, quality and safety control, insurance, invoice, bid form (edit), construction schedule (edit), and more.
Meeting & Presentation (in English)
Interview/Presentation (Relevant work record and partial design suggestion), Q&A time regarding current building condition and detail. On-site meetings with the clients to see site progress, checking if properly followed.
Long-term Relationship
Successfully won all submitted Sephora bids. (2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th store)
Participation & Support
Team project with five people consisted of a general manager, designer, construction team leader & team member. (except for the sub-contracting workforce)
Setting the first bidding budget and the schedule was mainly the role of the general manager. I assisted with providing the information needed and amended it according to the condition. The brand offered a 3D design suggestion, and a designer in our team did the technical drawing. I supported her when needed.

Description
This conceptual bar is located in a valley adjacent to Mt.Jiri. I wanted to inspire positive impressions about the product they are selling, Korean traditional liquor, to visitors by expressing two harmonies in the design.
The first is between modern and traditional aesthetics. The contemporary bar structure is filled with traditional objects such as Korean lighting fixtures and jars, visualising the coexistence of past and present.
The second harmony is between nature and architecture. The building's shape and colour resemble the mountain to blend the structure with its natural surroundings. Furthermore, the large windows are intended to capture a panoramic view of the mountainside.
Inspiration
My inspiration and influences for this project were inherited from my clients.
They desired a bar in a mountain location to sell and promote their Korean liquor products to day and night visitors. They have the passion and dedication to their products to climb up snowy mountains and extract sap Goroshe tree to get the benefit of natural mineral water to use in liquor production. They accomplished this without fighting against the environment. Rather, their methods were eco-friendly and traditional. I tried to visualise their passion and eco-friendly concept in the design by emphasising the concept of harmony.

Operation / Flow / Interaction
The building entrance, bar and encountering area is intended for greeting visitors and product introductions. This area is not fully-opened to the mountain to encourage visitors to focus their attention on the company’s products.
There are steps down leading to the other part of the building. The view of the mountain is more expansive from the steps. Sightseeing and tasting is the main purpose of the next area. Visitors can easily walk out through the side doors to enjoy the atmosphere and surrounding views. The building has three doors. The first is the main entrance.
This is located in the centre and open to everyone. The second door is located near the bar for workers to have easy access to buried jars used in the liquor aging process. The third door faces the mountain and provides the best view from the building. All the doors may be kept open in good weather and promote air circulation. Great air quality is one of the primary reasons people visit Mt.Jiri. The bar is located adjacent to a tea tasting centre and a small hotel, which both host visitors year-round. A shared bathroom facility can be found outside near the building.
The creative / research challenge
The first challenge was designing the form of the building. Its angles are not vertical and regular. Some areas contained sharp angles and gave the impression of a lack of space. To address this problem, I place mirrors on the walls and ceiling to present a more spacious impression.
Also, using big windows also presented difficulties.
Sunlight during the day and in the evening can dramatically alter the feel of the inside.
Therefore, I adjusted the concept to give the building the appearance of a café during the day and a bar at night.
Colours were also selected to match the dark and bright contrast.
The last difficulty I would like to mention was the challenge of balancing the old with the new. I did not want to simply mix those concepts but put them together in a balanced way. Furniture, jars and small lighting fixtures were placed here and there to form a traditional impression. The shape of building, neon lights, and the design of the bar create a modern feeling.
